Emergency HVAC Service in Ottawa

No heat in February is not a maintenance call. Tell us what the thermostat says and what the furnace is doing — whether it clicks, whether it runs and then stops, whether there is any smell — and we can usually tell over the phone whether it is safe to wait.

What We Do

Gas Line Installation

New lines run to a barbecue, a garage heater, a range, a dryer or a pool heater. Sized for the appliance and for everything already on the system, not just the new load.

Appliance Gas Hookup

Connecting a new range, dryer, fireplace or heater to an existing line, with the shut-off and connector the appliance actually requires.

Gas Leak Testing

If you can smell gas, leave the building and call the utility emergency line first. For a suspected slow leak or a peace-of-mind check, we pressure-test the system.

Permits Handled

Gas work requires permits and inspection. We pull them as part of the job rather than leaving you to arrange it afterwards.

Capacity Checked First

Adding an appliance to an already-loaded line starves everything on it. We calculate before we connect.

Documented and Tested

Every line is pressure-tested and the result recorded. That record matters when you sell the house.

Do This First

If you smell gas, leave the building before you call anyone, and do not touch a light switch on the way out. Otherwise: check the thermostat is calling for heat, check the furnace switch on the wall beside it, check the breaker, and check the filter is not choked. Those four account for a fair share of the calls we take.

While You Wait for Us

Close off rooms you are not using and keep the heat in the ones you are. Open the cupboard doors under sinks on outside walls so the pipes stay above freezing. If the house is dropping fast, say so when you call — that changes where you sit in the queue.

Common Questions

What counts as an emergency?

No heat in winter, no cooling during a heat warning, water leaking from the unit, a gas smell, or anything that trips a breaker repeatedly. If you are unsure, call and describe it.

How quickly can you get here?

It depends on the day and the weather — a cold snap fills the schedule for everyone in the city. We will give you an honest window when you call rather than a number that sounds good.

Do you charge more after hours?

After-hours rates are higher than a scheduled weekday visit. You will be told the rate before we dispatch, not after the work is done.

Should I turn the system off?

If it is leaking water, smoking, or smells like burning, switch it off at the furnace switch and leave it off. Otherwise leaving it be is usually fine and gives the technician something to observe.
