Indoor Air Quality Maintenance in Ottawa
Humidifiers, dehumidifiers, HRVs and ERVs all quietly stop working well long before they stop working. One annual visit covers the filters, cores, drains and controls that keep the air in your home fresh and the humidity where it should be.

What an Annual Service Covers
Filters Inspected and Replaced
Filters are the first thing to fail and the last thing anyone remembers. We inspect them, replace what needs replacing and tell you the right size for next time.
HRV and ERV Core and Fans
The core is cleaned or assessed and the fans are tested. A blocked core is the usual reason a ventilator stops moving air without ever making a sound about it.
Humidifier Components
The pad, water supply, valve and humidistat are inspected together, so the unit is ready before the dry air arrives rather than after.
Dehumidifier Operation
Airflow, drainage, humidity controls and overall performance are checked, which is usually where a summer humidity complaint is solved.
Condensate Drains Cleared
Every one of these systems produces water. A blocked drain is a small problem in autumn and a flooded floor in February.
Airflow and Ventilation Check
We assess whether the system is actually moving the air it was designed to move, and flag restrictions or balance problems in writing.

One Visit, Every System
Most Ottawa homes have two or three of these systems and service none of them. Booking them together costs less than separate call-outs and means the humidifier, the ventilator and the dehumidifier are all ready for the season at the same time.
The Best Time to Book
Early autumn. The humidifier gets checked before you need it, the HRV gets cleaned before condensation season, and the dehumidifier gets looked at while the summer fault is still fresh in your memory.
Common Questions
Do you maintain HRV and ERV systems?
Yes. We inspect filters, cores, fans, controls, airflow, drainage where applicable, and overall ventilation performance.
Do you maintain whole-home humidifiers?
Yes. We inspect the humidifier pad, water supply, drainage, controls, and overall operation.
Do you maintain whole-home dehumidifiers?
Yes. We inspect airflow, drainage, humidity controls, electrical components, and overall system performance.
Do you replace filters and humidifier pads?
Yes. If replacement is required, we will recommend the appropriate filter, core maintenance, or humidifier pad for the system.
Can you check whether my HRV or ERV has proper airflow?
Yes. We assess ventilation airflow and system operation and identify restrictions or performance issues.
What happens if you find a problem during maintenance?
We explain our findings and provide repair recommendations and pricing before any additional repair work is performed.
How often should this equipment be serviced?
Once a year for most homes. Systems in busy households, or ones that have not been touched in several years, benefit from being looked at sooner.
Can this be booked with my furnace or AC maintenance?
Yes. Booking them on the same visit saves a second call-out and is usually the most economical way to do it.
